Pet insurance multi-pet discounts

Insuring more than one dog? What each insurer takes off, and what to compare first.

Beagle

Updated October 2, 2026. Plan facts come from each insurer's published documents; each insurer's policy documents control.

The short answer

Embrace and Spot take 10% off, Lemonade up to 10%, and Odie and Pets Best 5%. Fetch says it has no multi-pet discount, and we found none on Healthy Paws' own pages.

Each pet still has its own policy, deductible and limit; the discount only lowers the price.

What this means for your dog

A discount of 5 to 10% is real money over years, but it shouldn't decide the insurer. The premium for each dog depends mainly on breed and age, so compare the full price for each pet first and apply the discount after. Use the calculator for each dog's estimate.

Breeds differ a lot in price. In our estimates, a French Bulldog or Bulldog costs far more to insure than a Beagle or Shih Tzu, and coverage needs differ too: one dog may need strong orthopedic cover, another dental. It can make sense to use different insurers for different dogs.

Check the conditions of the discount: Spot applies it to every pet after the first, Embrace adds it automatically for two or more pets, and Pets Best requires all policies to be with the same underwriter.

Look at the whole household's yearly cost: add each dog's estimated premium, take off the discount, and compare insurers on that total and on the cover each dog needs. A 10% discount on a plan that fits poorly is no saving if the claim that matters most isn't covered.

Adding a pet later usually works the same way: the new dog gets its own policy, with its own waiting periods and pre-existing review, and the discount applies once more than one pet is insured.

Before you buy

  • Get a full quote for each pet first, then apply the discount.
  • Check the discount's conditions, such as the same underwriter or every pet after the first.
  • Compare coverage fit for each dog, not just the combined price.
  • Ask whether the discount continues at renewal.

Questions owners ask

Which pet insurers offer a multi-pet discount?

Embrace (10%), Spot (10% on each pet after the first), Lemonade (up to 10%), Odie (5%) and Pets Best (5%). Fetch says it does not offer one.

Does Fetch have a multi-pet discount?

No. Fetch says it does not offer a multi-pet discount.

Do all my pets share one deductible?

No. Each pet has its own policy, deductible and annual limit; the multi-pet discount only lowers the premium.

Is it better to insure all my pets with one insurer?

Not necessarily. Compare each pet's full price and coverage first. A 5 to 10% discount rarely outweighs a better fit for a dog with specific health risks.
